Hello, my name is Katja, and I really love Harry Potter. Most of the time, I find it difficult to find people to talk to about Harry Potter, because a lot of the people I know haven't read the books. I am also an Orthodox Christian, and I was directed by a friend (naqerj) to take a look over at HogwartsProfessor.com, which is the website of John Granger, and Orthodox Christian who has written the book "Looking for God in Harry Potter". At first, I was kind of skeptical, but after reading a couple of essays on the site, I was really impressed, so I ordered the book, and I was even more impressed. I contacted Mr. Granger, and the two of us have been corresponding for several months.
Anyway, Mr. Granger has also led discussion groups at Barnes&Noble University, and when "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" came out, and he graciously invited me to take part. I'm very happy I did, for the level of conversation there was wonderful. These were people who really knew their Harry Potter, but also knew a lot about history, literature, mythology, religion, and a lot of other things that really was fascinating and enlightening. And so... This community is an outgrowth of that, though membership is open to anybody who wants to talk about Harry Potter, and is willing to respect the ideas of others.
